Burrito Boyz has officially opened its newest Toronto location at 489 Queen Street West. The Mexican fast-casual chain, known for its oversized customizable burritos, now occupies the 1,362-square-foot retail space in the historic red brick building between Spadina Avenue and Bathurst Street.
The Queen West space has housed multiple tenants over recent years, including Alder Apparel’s pop-up shop in summer 2022, Bang-On T-Shirts for approximately six years prior, and briefly operated as Earth & Fire and The Cash Store payday loan outlet before 2009. The unit features 12-foot ceilings on the main floor with a full basement and has undergone comprehensive renovations including updates to the storefront, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
This new location strengthens the food offerings on this stretch of Queen West, which has seen increased restaurant development alongside its established fashion and lifestyle retailers. For Burrito Boyz, this opening represents a strategic downtown presence as the company manages its network of over 30 Ontario locations while having recently closed several Toronto outlets including those on College Street and in North York.
The property was represented by Joel Finkler, broker at Oberfeld Snowcap.
