Goldstruck Coffee is set to open its third Toronto location at 25 Carlton Street on April 10, 2025. The specialty coffee shop will take over the former Black Bear Espresso space, continuing its expansion across Toronto’s downtown core after its established locations in Yorkville and Richmond Street.
The 25 Carlton Street location previously housed Black Bear Espresso, which was known for its Australian-style coffee offerings including the Flat White. According to Black Bear’s former website, the café was named as “an inspiration to Adam, the cafe’s manager,” despite being far from any forests where actual bears might roam.
This expansion brings Goldstruck’s organic, fair-trade coffee program to the College Park area, strengthening Toronto’s independent coffee scene in a neighbourhood predominantly served by chain establishments. Located just east of Yonge Street, the new café is positioned to serve both local residents and the daily influx of office workers and students from nearby Toronto Metropolitan University.
