Los Angeles-based egg sandwich chain Eggslut is making its Canadian debut with two Toronto locations opening in 2026. The brand has listed both addresses on its official Canadian website under an upcoming “Canadian locations” section, with construction signage already spotted at the King West address — the former home of Porchetta and Co., which recently closed. That location is targeting a spring opening. A second location at Yonge & Dundas is scheduled for summer.

Founded in 2011 out of a stall at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, Eggslut has spent the past decade expanding internationally, with locations now operating across London (seven locations), Tokyo, Kyoto, and Perth. Toronto marks the brand’s first Canadian market entry.
The menu is built around cage-free egg sandwiches served on locally baked brioche buns — the Bacon, Egg & Cheese, the Fairfax (soft scrambled with caramelized onions and sriracha mayo), and the Cheeseburger among the signatures — alongside the brand’s most talked-about item, the Slut: a coddled egg poached in a glass jar over potato purée, served with baguette. Pricing for the Toronto locations has not yet been confirmed.

The King West opening lands in what is shaping up to be one of the more competitive blocks in the city for fast-casual food. Shake Shack is set to open its own King West location at 556 King Street West — directly across the street — also targeting mid-2026, as part of the American burger chain’s six-site GTA expansion. The two brands arriving on the same block around the same time will make King West something of a proving ground for whether imported American QSR concepts can sustain momentum beyond the opening rush in Toronto’s current economic climate.
Yonge & Dundas offers a different proposition — volume over destination dining, with some of the highest pedestrian counts in the country. Toronto’s breakfast sandwich scene has historically underperformed for a city its size, with Egg Club at Union Station among the few spots that regularly comes up when locals are asked for a recommendation. Whether the market has the appetite to sustain a premium imported concept at both locations remains to be seen.
Eggslut’s U.S. Footprint Continues to Grow
In the United States, Eggslut currently operates four California locations — Downtown LA’s Grand Central Market (where the brand was founded), Venice Beach, Glendale, and West Hollywood — plus two Las Vegas outposts inside the Rio Hotel and The Cosmopolitan. Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighbourhood rounds out the existing U.S. roster.
An Atlanta location inside the Moxy Hotel Downtown is listed as coming soon on the brand’s website, marking its first foray into the American Southeast. No additional U.S. locations have been announced at this time.
