JD Sports will open at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, occupying the former Nike and Under Armour locations on the mall’s first level. The store will be positioned across from Soft Moc and next to Levi’s, joining the centre’s growing collection of athletic and lifestyle retailers.
The combined space previously housed Nike’s Eaton Centre location, which has since opened a new flagship on the third floor next to Simons and the soon-to-open Eataly, and Under Armour, which closed as part of the brand’s broader Canadian market restructuring. The larger 8,456sf footprint will allow JD Sports to implement its full multi-brand retail concept, including dedicated shop-in-shops for Nike, Adidas, New Balance and other athletic brands.

The Eaton Centre opening follows JD Sports’ recent launch at Dufferin Mall, where the retailer opened next to Sephora in early November. The Dufferin location is set to hold its grand opening celebration on November 15th, marking JD Sports’ entry into the downtown Toronto market ahead of the downtown flagship.
Located in Canada’s busiest shopping centre, the Eaton Centre store positions JD Sports to serve both local consumers and the centre’s significant tourist traffic. The location places the retailer within walking distance of complementary athletic retailers including Foot Locker and Champs Sports.
Since entering Canada in 2021, JD Sports has expanded to 35 stores nationwide with plans to reach 80-100 locations within five years. The Toronto expansion builds on the company’s flagship strategy, which includes locations on Vancouver’s Robson Street and an upcoming 26,000-square-foot store at 777 Ste-Catherine Street West in Montreal.
